SUCCESS in this undertaking will inspire you to feel better, look better and, hopefully, help you to live a longer and healthier life! This is all about PREVENTION!
BOTTOM LINE:
Americans are OVER-FED, OVER-SALTED and UNDER-EXERCISED! Because of this, we have record rates of obesity, diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
We recommend a high protein/low carbohydrate diet. This diet will help you to feel better, increase your energy level, decrease cholesterol and decrease blood pressure. Diets rich in protein may help to slow aging and certainly work to lower your blood sugar level. High blood sugar levels can cause your cells to struggle and to age prematurely. Balanced and normalized blood sugar levels will help you to feel great!
The SECRET is not a SECRET!
Avoid excess of bread, pasta, rice, tortillas, potatoes, corn, fruit, and sugary products (including sodas, fruit juices, sports drinks, milk, sweet tea, cookies, cakes, pies, muffins, candy, etc.). Instead, chose high protein foods which include beef, chicken, fish, eggs, cheese, dry nuts, green salads, most veggies etc.
WEIGHT LOSS RULES
A. Exercise 30 minutes a day (i.e. speed walking, running, biking, swimming, dancing, etc.);
B. Eat freely from the "Approved Foods" list;
C. Avoid foods from the "Not Approved" list;
D. Drink 6-8 glasses (8oz) of water daily; avoid caffeine;
E. Eat no more than 35 grams of carbohydrates daily (read nutrition labels!- carbs/ serving)
F. Avoid eating after 6:00PM if possible (do not eat a heavy meal and then go to sleep).
Our weight loss program is very safe. We are using prescription medications which have been safely prescribed for more than 30 years. These medications are used to aid with appetite control. They are not to be administered to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, suffer from glaucoma, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, untreated hyperthyroidism, have a history of heart disease (myocardial infarction, cardiac stents, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Congestive Heart Failure, arrhythmias, etc. ) or a history of stroke.
The prescribed appetite suppressants are generally very well tolerated but can cause some side effects such as dry mouth, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, headaches, constipation, and insomnia. Ideally, this medication should be taken before 10:00AM; however, you may take it earlier if you experience insomnia. Drinking extra water during the day can help minimize these side effects. Caffeine or over-the-counter stimulants (sudafed, certain cold & cough syrups, etc.) can make these side effects worse and should be avoided.
We strongly recommend that you follow up with us at least every 7 days for monitoring of your weight and vital signs and for the administration of supplemental injections.
